Audition for the Cleveland Chamber Choir
Cleveland Chamber Choir is the region’s premier professional choir. We hire top level professional singers from throughout the greater Cleveland area.
Thank you for your interest in joining the Cleveland Chamber Choir. We conduct auditions on a rolling basis throughout the season to discover talented voices dedicated to exceptional choral music. If you are passionate about singing and wish to be part of our professional ensemble, we invite you to audition.
HOW TO APPLY
To be considered for an audition, please review requirements below and submit the following materials:
- A solo recording of an oratorio, art song, opera aria, or spiritual that showcases the best qualities of your voice.
- A resume/CV or a detailed description of your musical background.
After reviewing your submission, you may be invited for a second audition. The second audition will include:
- A prepared choral excerpt
- Vocalises to assess the range and color of your voice
- Sight reading and musicianship exercises
HOW WE WORK AS AN ENSEMBLE
The Cleveland Chamber Choir is composed of professional voices dedicated to performing the finest choral repertoire at the highest possible level. We meet for approximately 15 hours of intensive rehearsal before each concert. Singers are contracted on a per-project basis and are expected to perform a wide variety of vocal techniques. Music is provided in advance, and singers are required to come prepared.
The Cleveland Chamber Choir offers audiences exceptional performances of diverse and unique repertoire, blending contemporary works with six centuries of choral music. We emphasize the works of composers historically excluded from concert halls. Since our founding in 2015, we have received acclaim for inclusive programming, community partnerships, and free concerts that ensure accessibility to world-class professional choral singing.
