With Holiday Treasures, we presented our first holiday concert, celebrating music of the season from the traditions of Hanukkah, Advent and Christmas. From early New England composer William Billings’ rousing Christmas chorus Shiloh and the late Minneapolis-based composer Stephen Paulus’ Three Nativity Carols for chorus, harp and oboe, to Linda Kachelmeier’s haunting Coventry Carol and Abbie Betinis’ lovely In the Bleak Midwinter, to two world premieres of Hanukkah song arrangements by Ohio composers Corey K. Rubin and Scott Little, this varied program featured music of American composers.
