A program of baroque music that promises to arouse the spirits.
Join us tomorrow at Trinity Cathedral for our first concert of 2026!
Madness & Melancholy: January 21, noon, FREE
When the passions of our subconscious pour out into daily life, the results are dramatic indeed. Join a trio of soloists from Cleveland Chamber Choir, along with Adrian Murillo on lute and CCC Artistic Director Gregory Ristow on harpsichord for a program of baroque music that promises to arouse the spirits of even the most lethargic of souls. Music from Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, English mad songs, Italian and French laments and more.
With Dominic Aragon, baritone; Abigail Hakel-Garcia, soprano and violin; Adrian Murillo, theorbo; Kira McGirr, mezzo; and Gregory Ristow, harpsichord.
Love in Bloom: February 6-8
Love is in the air! Join us for an enchanting evening of flowers and romance, including Britten’s Five Flower Songs, Tōru Takemitsu’s Cherry Blossoms, Eric Whitacre’s Hebrew Love Songs, and Morten Lauridsen’s Chansons des Roses. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of choral music or simply looking for a memorable way to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day Holiday, Love in Bloom promises to be a night of beauty and harmony.
Charles Edward McGuire, PhD, from Oberlin College & Conservatory, will present a pre-concert talk 45 minutes prior to each performance.
A portion of all donations collected in Kent and Cleveland will be directed to Heights Tree People, helping them further their mission of urban forestry and environmental stewardship. At the Ashtabula performance, a portion of donations collected will be directed towards Grand River Conservation Campus. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of choral music or simply looking for a memorable way to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day Holiday, Love in Bloom promises to be a night of beauty, harmony, and giving back.
