THE PERSONAL MUSE

May 18-19, 2019

The 2018/19 season finished with The Personal Muse, bringing together the Cleveland Chamber Choir and the Cleveland Composers Guild in a concert featuring music by Cleveland composers and emphasizing the works of female composers. Central to the program were two pieces by British composers: Night Flight, a three-movement work for cello solo and choir in recognition of the American aviatrix Harriet Quimby, the first woman to fly across the English Channel in 1912, by Cecilia McDowall; and The Drowned Lovers, written for mezzo soprano soloist and eight-part choir by Judith Bingham.
